Indubitably Delicious Japanese-style Steamed Bun

Siopao is to the Pinoy what Nikuman (肉まん) is to the Japanese. Some call it Chukaman because it's a derivative of the Chinese baozi which is made from flour dough filled with ground meat and other ingredients. Comprised of the words niku (肉) which means meat and man (まん) meaning bun, nikuman literally means just that, meat in a bun. It is a favorite snack among Japanese adults and youth alike during the cold autumn and winter seasons sold at any convenience stores all over Japan.

However, just like other prepared food or snacks, the taste of nikuman varies from place to place, but just the same, they all possess that unique taste that will surely titillate anyone's taste buds.

Nikuman isn't the only steamed bun available nowadays. With creativity sprawling in the food industry, other varieties are flooding the market. One such variety is called Anman that has a sweet red bean paste as its filling instead of meat. Another is pizzaman (ピザまん) with meat, tomato sauce, and cheese.
